I’m a Londoner born and bred, but during my first 3 years of life I was exposed to long distance travel. I was sent to live for a short period with my gran in Bolivia. One of my first memories was the vibration of heavy drum beats from a religious procession thundering through my small body, together with a hazy vision of the Virgin Mary statue towering above me. I was exposed to new languages in the form of Spanish and Quechua, and new landscapes combining mountain and jungle. These early experiences, I believe, shaped my future cravings to visit new and exciting places.
The thrill of adventure often draws me to places where some won’t venture and to try activities which might be considered dangerous. I like to think of myself as a sensible kind of girl with luck on her side, however, and I see taking a calculated risk is simply part of being alive =) Stepping out of my comfort zone allows me a broader experience of life and for me, being able to share my stories and pictures and inspire others is a priceless part of the traveling experience.
I’ve been a photographer for many years, but even though a picture tells it’s own unique story, words can fire the imagination and paint an eloquent picture in a completely different way. If you prefer visual inspiration, you can view my photographic journeys from the past few years on Flickr.
